Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker CHV1568 15.6 -Volt Cyclonic-Action Cordless DustBuster with AccuREACHCustomer Review: A Terrific Small Vac Summary: 5 Stars
I had had battery-operated vac's before, but I kept losing the power supply. And they never seemed to have much power. That's not the case with this vac. It has plenty of power and has roved to be the best vac I have ever purchased for small job clean-up. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Awful!!! Summary: 1 Stars
I have to add my voice to the "don't waste your money" side of these reviews. I didn't start using this unit until it was too late to return it, or I would have. I was immediately disappointed when it took an unusual amount of force to even turn it on. Daily use of this vac would result in "carpal thumb syndrome"... I was looking for another CHV9600 ( a 9v model that works GREAT!) to add to my "vac army", but it was no longer available here so I settled for this unit. I will look futher to find another 9600 but this thing, come spring, will be in the garage sale bin!!
Customer Review: Bad tools Summary: 3 Stars
The vac is built good and functions very well. It is a very good size for working in tight spaces. The crevice and brush tools are not designed well and the pull out extension doesn't lock in the extended posistion like it should.
One use I wanted it for was to vacuum my car but it is only fair at doing that due to the poor design of the tools it has.
Customer Review: Best I've had so far Summary: 5 Stars
Well i've owned quite a few hand Vac's in my time. Thus far this is the best one I've owned.
Good points
- Quietest one I've ever owned. Doesn't bother my ears at all and I'm whiny about noise
- Strong suction so far, not surprising with the bigger batteries
- Very easy to dump the holder. One button and its dumped. Don't have to remove anything else to get it emptied. Previous ones always required removing the end and then pulling some other thing out and cleaning this and that.
- Battery pack appears replaceable, so when the battery eventually is garbage on this I'll actually be able to replace it.
Bad Points
- Its a little on the heavy side with the bigger battery pack.
- The on/off switch is a little tough to turn on. My little one really loves to use the hand vac's but this one she can't turn on by herself since the switch is so tough to move.
Customer Review: Better than my full-size vacuum! Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this dust buster for over a year and it's the most useful thing I've bought for $50. I have a furry dog and a house with all hardwood floors and it picks up EVERYTHING. It's very powerful. I even use it to pick up all the stuff left behind on my shag area rug that the vacuum doesn't get. The only quirk is after emptying the dust collector, it doesn't snap back in place easily. I find it helpful to just press it against the wall or floor to get it to snap back together.
